Tynan Pratumwon

Tynan, or Ty, is an emerging Twin Cities glass artist, constantly working to bring people closer to glass and the amazing process that he works in. He has never completely stopped learning, both from the material and mentors alike, and his paths push him towards teaching what he has learned to a wider audience. Ty is so inspired by people, his life having led to meet such a wide variety of people and an exposure to a net of cultures around the world that have made the series of impacts that has driven him to create what he does. Extensively using classic forms and simplicity of Scandinavian design, he also works heavily in a Midwestern utilitarian sense, attempting to make everyday objects more beautiful. His Thai heritage also influences his love for the ornamented and specifically gold leaf with heavy repeating texture.
